Dr. Allen is a legend in his field. He exemplifies the success of dedication, diligence, intelligence, and leadership. He has been associated with Florida Hospital’s (currently known as AdventHealth) Center for Behavioral Health since 1997 and actively serving as Medical Director since 1998. Additionally, he is the Section Chairman of the Department of Psychiatry for AdventHealth Orlando, Medical Director of the Psychiatric Medical Unit, Medical Director of AdventHealth’s Outlook Clinic, as well as the Inpatient Consultation Liaison for Psychiatric Services. He has received numerous awards and distinctions over the years, yet his most meaningful success is guiding his patients towards emotional and psychological well-being. He feels strongly about giving back to the community, and volunteers to see uninsured patients at Shepard’s Hope, which is a nondenominational health care organization. Sharing his wisdom and philosophies to the newer generation of doctors is also a priority to him; His medical school faculty affiliation includes: FSU, Nova Southeastern University, St Matthews University, and Kansas University. He loves to be challenged and never slows down his efforts at anything. He is an avid marathoner, in his free time, and has tested his endurance participating in the world Marathon Challenge in conjunction with the Mental Health Association of Central Florida – 7 marathons – on 7 continents – in 7 days as a fundraiser to increase awareness of the mental health needs in our community. Working with OneMed he endeavors to be just as impactful on the lives he will be able to touch.
